There is a great deal of confusion in the world today about the nature of Islam. There are many reasons for this, and some of those reasons -- but far from all of them -- are due to an array of
problematic actions and beliefs of certain segments of the Muslim community itself ... especially in conjuntion with the idea of shari'ah.
There also is considerable misunderstanding about the mystical dimension of Islam that often is referred to as the Sufi path or way. Some of this latter misunderstanding arises from various Muslims, while other facets of such misunderstanding is a function of forces external to the Muslim community.
Sufi Reflections is an attempt to provide individuals -- whether Muslim or non-Muslim -- an opportunity to engage material that, hopefully, will induce them to reflect on the teachings, principles, values, and practices of both Islam as well as its mystical dimension of tasawwuf.
I don't purport to have all the answers or even some of them. However, I have been a Muslim and initiate of the Sufi path for more than 40 years, and along the way I have had an array of opportunities to actively explore the spiritual tradition of Islam -- both exoterically and esoterically. The materials available through this web site constitute a compilation of what I have learned.
